StatClash Review

The relatively new StatClash has become the third most popular fantasy football site on the Internet. Although FanDuel and DrafKings are leading the way in this industry StatClash has made quite a big impression in the short time it has been around and things can change quickly in its favor. It specializes in daily fantasy sports games allowing players the freedom to come and go and not be stuck in the long leagues of their competitive sites. It collaborates with the world’s leading sports statistics site, STATS.com and is an active member of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA).

StatClash’s Variety of Fantasy Football Games

StatClash have a variety of contests that include Salary Cap games, Head-to-Head, 50/50 games, Satellites and a number of Guaranteed Prizepools. The tournaments there can be Multi-Entry, allowing you to clash with lots of other teams in multiple entries, or Single-Entry, allowing only one entry per player. You have the Winner Take All games where the overall winner simply takes all the winnings. The Satellite games are great for getting you into the bigger tournaments and there are plenty of Freerolls to choose from with various prizes, that can include vacations and hardware, not just cash. The Sit & Clash Contests are great chances to play others, allowing multiple players and winnings to be paid out.

For playing fresh games with your friends in a one-to-one you can create games really easily and customize them by adjusting the features of the contest by the sport, the start time, the payout, the number of players to play and the entry fee. These entry feeds can range from 50¢ to $1000 allowing for a range of prizes.

StatClash Site Usability

The StatClash runs smoothly on the browser and is simple to use, where everything is navigable from the attractive home page that is completely refreshed each day. It is especially good to see the page when you have joined up, with arrows pointing to main sections on the site so that you can get comfortable very quickly playing online. The account pages will allow you to view your history, as in balances and games and the account balance page always gives you an up to date view of it together with your username.

The contest Lobby shows all the contests of the day that can be played and has a number of filters to reduce the noise, like the league type you want, the sport, the contest type, the entry fee, the number of players and the time of day that you would like to start a game. It is interesting to see that it filters out contests that will start either early, in the afternoon, in the evening or in the night, following when particular games are likely to be played. The contest types allow you to choose from Sit & Clash, 50/50, Live, Single Entry and Multientry Tournaments, Specialty, Qualifier and Winner Take All. The player cards for choosing your side are informative and useful, providing recent stats, on form and any injuries or events that will have an effect on play.

One of the great innovations on the site are the two Post-It like areas on the  page, where you can enter any notes you feel are useful at any time and the reminders are filled with useful events that you will find useful. Unfortunately StatClash do not yet have a mobile app in the stores but its page can easily be played in a browser on a tablet, like an iPad. It maybe that because the players following these daily contests tend to be fully focused on the site during that day and a mobile app that simply checks in now and again to see how things are going is not yet needed.

StatClash’s Player Support

StatClash support Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards and PayPal. PayPal is usually the quickest option for paying back any winnings because they can be loaded back into your account electronically whereas the credit cards winnings will need to be paid back by sending out a check which can take from 7 to 10 business days.

The rake used by StatClash is proudly stated on the front page of the website, at 5% they pull back the lowest rake in the fantasy sports business, and that is a flat rate across all of the games.

StatClash’s Incentives

StatClash have a bonus of 100% for first deposits of up to $200. This deposit bonus can be cleared at 40% of the fees paid toward any contests that you might enter until the full $200 is reached.

It is interesting to see the leaderboard on the home page of StatClash that shows the usernames of who the top 10 winners are on the site, it is worth seeing the amount that these guys have made by joining StatClash.

There can be many kinds of prizes on this fantasy football site and iPads, tickets to games and concerts, sports memorabilia and vacations for example have been won. There are also regular Freerolls of $10 or $20 going in the daily contest list that are part of the guaranteed payout.

StatClash Summary

It is tremendously difficult to make your mark in a competitive industry but StatClash has done just that, a big impression in the fantasy sports market in the short time it has been online and this earns it a high rating. It deserves more praise for holding down the rake to an industry low at 5%. It however is only a daily contest site and does not cater for the longer tournaments that so many players enjoy, but still, it is great for a site to specialize in a particular niche within the industry. This one is certainly worth joining in and enjoying those free days of rest playing fantasy football online.
